Gene Ray Ward

Gene Ray Ward was born December 21, 1934 in Clovis,
NM. He was raised on a ranch in Arizona where he
started rodeoing at a young age and joined the RCA in
1957. He moved to Texas in 1974 where he now lives.

He was a two time NFR qualifier, two time PRCA Texas
Circuit Team Roping Champion and a PRCA Gold Card
holder.

Gene Ray served eight years on the Executive Board of
the NSPRA, six of those years as Chairman of the Board
and is now a Gold Card member. In 1995, he received the
SNFR Commissioners Award.

Gene Ray has won the NSPRA Team Roping World
Championship five times and was the Reserve Champion
Team Roper four times. He won the NSPRA All Around
Champion once.

Many refer to Gene Ray Ward as "The Cowboy's Cowboy.”
