Jack Finnerty

Jack Finnerty was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on June
18, 1939 and has always been in the ranching business
along with competing in the sport of rodeo.

Jack was the NSPRA World Champion Steer Wrestler in
1982. He served on the Board of Directors for several
years as the steer wrestling director and was later
elected to the Executive Board where he served for six
terms as the president of the National Senior Pro Rodeo
Association.

In his earlier rodeo career, Jack was primarily a calf
roper and bull rider, even though he was successful in all
other events, with the exception of one event that he
never participated in, which was the saddle bronc event.

During his tenure as president of the NSPRA, he was
Instrumental in the association producing the National
Rodeo Finals at the Reno Livestock Events Center in
Reno, Nevada, where they have remained.
