About the National Finals

2012 SENIOR NATIONAL FINALS RODEO

The Senior National Finals Rodeo (SNFR) will be held in Las Vegas' Horseman's Park. The SNFR is the highlight of the year for NSPRA members. Many have rodeoed all year, competing in 40-50 rodeos in the U.S. and Canada, and their opportunity to win a world championship is on the line as they enter this competition.

The SNFR consists of four go rounds and an average at which 3x the points of a regular season rodeo are awarded.  This format allows an opportunity for contestants who have a successful SNFR to be in contention for a world title.  World champions will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony at Sam’s Town. While world titles are on the mind of many, there are those focusing on the SNFR payoff, the best of the year, and SNFR championships.  SNFR champions will be recognized at the completion of their event during the final SNFR performance.

Over 400 contestants in ten events (twenty-nine age groups) are expected to compete at this year’s SNFR.  The attraction to Las Vegas has much of offer…McCarren International Airport offers easy accessibility from anywhere in the world; casinos offer good food and fun for the entire family; stalls and hook-ups are plentiful; and, Sam’s Town is easy access to Horseman’s Park.  All are good reasons to bring the entire family to the SNFR.

Remember, competition at five regular season rodeos is the first step in qualifying for the SNFR.  The second step is to be among the top point earners in your event during the regular season.  Rough stock events take the top twenty competitors and timed events take the top thirty.
